The overview
I helped create Elkwood Studios as an end-to-end website system for referral-led small businesses. Clients describe the business and review the result; the platform and delivery workflow handle the design, copy, imagery, hosting, domain, SSL and ongoing changes.
01
The market gap
Many small businesses need a credible website but do not want a second job learning a page builder. Traditional agency projects can be too expensive and slow, while generic templates rarely reflect the quality of a specialist business.
02
The service system
Elkwood turns a guided consultation into a managed website project with a three-day delivery target. The model covers custom design, professional copy and imagery, hosting, domain, SSL and unlimited updates, with payment after approval and no long contract.
03
Technical approach
The sites are designed to be fast, secure and search-friendly while supporting the dynamic capabilities an SME may need, from booking and lead capture to managed editorial changes and integrations. The system separates the ease of a managed service from the limitations of a generic site builder.
04
My contribution
I support the technical architecture, product strategy, automation and search foundations. The work combines consultancy and implementation: simplifying a complex production workflow until the client experiences one clear, low-friction service.
The strategic takeaway
What this work demonstrates
Elkwood shows how technical architecture, automation and service design can make a complex delivery operation feel simple to the customer.
